  1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy (the “Privacy Policy”) has been enacted by us, Stopgap AB, a Swedish company (company no. 559387-9264). It is our aim to give you a better way to understand and manage your electricity consumption. We accomplish this by developing products and services under the brand “currently”.

The Privacy Policy shall apply to the “currently” website available on https://currently.one (the “Website”), related social media accounts, mobile applications and services (collectively, the “Services”). Please refer to our Terms of Service for the general terms governing your use of the Services.

We will respond to any questions regarding the Privacy Policy via the Website.

  1. Background

The purpose of the Services is to give you a better way to understand and manage your electricity consumption. By creating an account with us and installing our hardware solutions (the “Hardware”) in your home or work place, you will be able to access and analyze your electricity usage data via the Services. In order for us to provide you with the Services, you need to feed data into our systems.

Our privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”) explains the information we collect, how we use and share it, how to manage your privacy controls and your rights in connection with your use of the Services. (Capitalized items, if not defined here, are defined in the Terms of Service.)

  1. Information we Collect

We collect information about you, including information that may identify you, directly or indirectly, if you choose to share it with us. We receive detailed information about your electricity consumption when you have installed the Hardware and connected it to the Services. We also collect information about how you use the Services. There are several additional instances when you may share information about yourself and your activities with us. For example:

a. Account, Profile, Activity, and Use Information

We collect basic account information, such as your name and email address, which helps secure and provide you with access to the Services.

Profile, activity and use information is collected when you use the Services.

We use your contact information so we can (i) respond to your support requests and comments, (ii) reach out to you with important information related to your use of the Services, and (iii) contact you as otherwise permitted or required by law.

b. Appliances and Devices

We collect information from devices you use to connect to the Services. If you elect to use such of the Services that allow you to analyze items like electricity usage and price data, and other similar data, in a granular format, including, but not limited to, such data that is made available on a “per device” or “per appliance” basis, or such data that displays electricity usage for discrete periods of time, you shall be deemed to have consented to our collection of the relevant data and performance of the relevant analysis.

c. Third-Party Accounts

We may allow you to sign up and log in to the Services using accounts you create with third-party products and services, such as Apple, Facebook, or Google (collectively, “Third-Party Accounts”). If you access the Services with Third-Party Accounts, we may collect information that you have agreed to make available, including your name and email address. This information is collected by the Third-Party Account provider and is provided to us under their privacy policies. You can generally control the information that we receive from these sources using the privacy controls in your Third-Party Account. In addition, you are able to edit such information collected by us from a Third Party Account when you use the Services.

d. Technical Information

We may collect limited information from your browser, computer, or mobile device, which provide us with technical information when you access or use the Services. This technical information may include device and network information, cookies, and analytics information. a. To provide the Services

We use the information we collect and receive to provide the Services, including providing you with the ability to analyze and manage your electricity usage.

We use the information we collect to protect users, enforce our Terms of Service, and promote safety.

c. To improve our Services

We also use the information we collect to analyze, develop and improve the Services. To do this, we may use third-party analytics providers to gain insights into how our Services are used and to help us improve the Services.

d. To communicate with you

We use the information we collect to provide support in response to your requests and comments.

We may also use the information we collect to market and promote the Services, activities and events. This includes marketing and push communications, where you have not opted out of receiving such messages and notifications.

e. Aggregate Information

We do not sell your personal information. Examples of the type of information we may aggregate include information about equipment, usage, demographics, and performance. The Services use industry standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to allow for the encryption of personal information. The Services are registered with site identification authorities so that your browser can confirm our identity before any personal information is sent. In addition, we rely on secure servers hosted by our cloud computing partners to protect this information using advanced firewall technology.

We offer users the ability to change their privacy settings in its apps.

b. Adjust Notification Preferences

We allow you to manage the notifications you receive via your device.

c. Updating Account Information

You may correct, amend or update profile or account information at any time by adjusting that information in your account settings. If you need further assistance correcting inaccurate information, please contact us via the Website.

d. Deleting Information and Accounts and Downloading Your Data

You can delete your account or download your data. If you need help in this regard, please contact us via the Website.

After you make a deletion request, we permanently and irreversibly delete your personal data from our systems, including backups. Once deleted, your data, including your account, and activities cannot be reinstated. Notwithstanding the foregoing, we may retain information where deletion requests are made to comply with the law.

We rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use, share, and otherwise process the information we have about you for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including:

as necessary to provide the Services and fulfill our obligations pursuant to the Terms of Service;

The Services are operated from within the European Union (the “Territories”). If you are located outside the Territories and choose to use the Services or provide information to us, you acknowledge and understand that your information will be transferred, processed and stored in the Territories, as it is necessary to provide the Services and perform the Terms of Service.

  1. Retention of Information

We retain information as long as it is necessary to provide the Services to you and others, subject to any legal obligations to further retain such information. Information associated with your account will generally be kept until it is no longer necessary to provide the Services or until your account is deleted. In addition, you can delete some items of information (e.g., profile information). Additionally, we may retain information to comply with the law, resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems, assist with investigations, enforce the Terms of Service and take other actions permitted by law. The information we retain will be handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

If we make changes to this Privacy Policy, the updated Privacy Policy will be posted on the Services in a timely manner and, if we make material changes, we will provide a prominent notice. If you object to any of the changes to this Privacy Policy, you should stop using the Services and delete your account.
